Inspiring and helping others achieve life goals

For years people commented on my generosity and selflessness and I discarded those comments. I wasn't extraordinary--just helping people. After all, being from Iowa, I was surrounded by examples of people and communities coming together to help others. I wasn't aware yet that I was already fulfilling my passion to help others achieve life goals.

I was always one to lend a hand and most commonly sharing baked goods with friends and volunteering my time in long and time-intensive commitments. These are things I still do today because it's part of who I am as a person.

When I relocated from Denver to a small mountain community in the Rocky Mountains in 2001 just six weeks after heart surgery and wasn't adjusting well to the contrasting lifestyle, I spent a lot of time soul searching and figuring how I could make a difference—and fulfill my soul.

I began writing daily devotions for the youth group I left behind in Denver, and eventually wrote my first book (which I haven't published yet). This set my course in identifying—and satisfying—my passion to help others in a meaningful way to achieve life goals as my life purpose.

Detours in life happen

In true selflessness, I always put my family first and supported my then-husband's career which allowed our family to flourish. As he climbed the corporate ladder, I created my own marketing and writing business to keep my skills sharp and my personality needs met. Through several moves and designing/building a custom home in Grand County, supporting a tween daughter's expensive and time-consuming acting pursuits, including Hollywood and Denver markets, I couldn't do it all. Some of my passions (like writing books and creating my indie publishing company) were delayed.

Ironically, through the years devoted to the construction and the family, we no longer own this beautiful home; I returned to Denver in 2008; and our little family lives in three different geographic locations. Sometimes in order to achieve certain goals, we need to detour from them and achieve other goals on our journey.

Back on track and in sync with my passion, all my books are in progress and will be available in the very near future. From topics to divorcing with grace and dignity to overcoming a TBI, my passion continues to drive me to help as many people as possible through my writing, speaking, and coaching.

We need to live our lives well.

Love,

Jennifer
